Mk1 Service Indicator

Drove the Gal tonight and the Trip'o'meter changed to SERVICE IN02. Looking in the blue book states that "an Inspection" is due. I therefore got out of the car, inspected it, but the display was still there. :wub:

 

After much searching the forum, there were no definitive answers to what exactly each of the indicators means and which service is due.

 

SERVICE OIL

SERVICE IN01

SERVICE IN02

 

Anyone care to shed any specific service coloured light on this to clear it up?

SERVICE OIL - oil change service 10'000m/12months or whichever occurs first

SERVICE IN01 - inspection service 10,000miles/12month or whichever occurs first

SERVICE IN02 - insection service 30,000mile /36 months or whichever occurs first

no idea what gets inspected though?

So how does that work out if mine has done 70,000 mls and is 78 months old with a full service history all of which done within 200 miles of the schedule???
